JOHN PELHAM BURN 'WATERSKIING'
John Pelham Burn was for many years a 'crop sprayer' mainly in Britain but also in the Sudan which is where this painting is set. He is flying a Grumman Agcat while his friend flies as 'wingman' in a Cessna Agtruck. The long months of relentless crop work were only relieved by the occasional 'water-skiing' session or flying under bridges, both of which were severely frowned upon by the local authorities.
Later John took to multi-engine freight aircraft, firstly propeller driven and later jets, which he continued to do until his final illness ended his career and his passion.
MEDIUM: Acrylic on canvas board
SIZE: 410x300mm (16.00x12.00ins)
