Cortes takes Tenochtitlan 1520

A scene from the final assault into the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan by the Conquistadors under Hernan Cortes. Having suffered previously by Aztec troops in canoes while traversing the causeways that crossed the lake to the city, Cortes had built several 'brigantines' armed with canon. They proved to be very worthwhile as they could support the main army on the causeway whenever it was needed. Cortes is seen leading his soldiers and Tlaxcalan allies towards the island capital in the final battle for the capital.
